1. Membership Agreement
By registering as a member of the Young African Torch Bearers Association (YATBA), you agree to abide by the rules, regulations, and guidelines set forth by the organization. Membership is open to all individuals who share YATBA's vision of empowering Africa's youth.
Upon successful registration, you will be assigned a unique YATBA membership number. This number is personal and non-transferable and will be used to identify you across all YATBA services and activities.
2. Payment Terms
Members are required to pay their membership fees in accordance with their selected membership tier. Payments can be made via M-Pesa (STK Push or Buy Goods till number) or through authorized YATBA field agents.
- Daily payment amounts are set during registration and represent the minimum daily contribution towards your membership fee.
- Activation fees, where applicable, are one-time charges payable in addition to the membership fee.
- All payments are non-refundable unless otherwise determined by YATBA management.
- Payment confirmations are sent via SMS to the registered phone number.
3. Membership Types
YATBA offers the following membership tiers, each with different benefits and fee structures:
- Regular Membership — Entry-level membership with access to core YATBA programs, events, and the mentorship network.
- Platinum Membership — Premium membership with priority access to programs, project placements, and exclusive networking events.
- Gold Membership — Top-tier membership with all Platinum benefits plus international exchange program eligibility and leadership summit access.
The specific fees for each membership type are displayed on the registration page and are subject to change with prior notice to members.
4. Expiry and Renewal
Membership is valid for a period of one (1) year from the date of full payment. Members will be notified via SMS before their membership expires.
- Renewal requires payment of the applicable membership fee for the next period.
- Lapsed memberships may be reactivated by paying the current membership fee and any applicable reactivation charges.
- Members with outstanding balances are encouraged to complete their payments to maintain active status.
5. Privacy Policy
YATBA is committed to protecting the privacy and personal data of its members. By registering, you consent to the collection and use of your personal information for the following purposes:
- Membership administration and communication
- Payment processing and record keeping
- Program coordination and event invitations
- Internal reporting and organizational planning
YATBA will not share your personal information with third parties without your consent, except as required by law or for payment processing purposes.
6. Code of Conduct
All YATBA members are expected to:
- Uphold the values of integrity, respect, and unity in all interactions
- Participate actively in YATBA programs and community activities
- Represent the organization positively in public and private settings
- Refrain from any conduct that may bring disrepute to the organization
- Respect fellow members, leaders, and stakeholders of YATBA
7. Termination of Membership
YATBA reserves the right to suspend or terminate the membership of any individual who:
- Violates the Code of Conduct or any YATBA policy
- Engages in fraudulent activities or misrepresentation
- Fails to meet financial obligations after due notice
- Acts in a manner detrimental to the organization's interests
Terminated members may appeal the decision in writing to YATBA's management within 30 days of receiving the termination notice.
